Need energy for your workout

The best way to keep up in a workout is to take some caffeine. 15-20 minutes before a workout, drink 1 cup of black coffee, take a caffeine pill or take an Excedrin. It’s amazing how much energy you have after taking some prior to a workout.

Carbs before cardio, protein before resistance

Another way to have good energy before a workout is with the following: carbs before cardio. Carbs help give you a nice little up and you burn carbs pretty quickly. You want to take protein before a resistance workout because you will need the protein to help rebuild the muscles that you used during the workout.

The right shoes for your feet

The worst thing you can do for yourself is not have the right shoes! Running is hard enough to get into in the first place without shoes that are made for the way you run. First thing you want to do is go to a reputable shoe store that will check your shoe size, width and in some cases scan your foot to see how you walk/run (flat footed, high arch, heel striker, etc.) and will recommend a shoe that will work best for you. In doing so, this will help prevent injuries and it might just make running a bit more enjoyable!
